We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team on an ongoing temporary contract in the City of London, working in large commercial buildings. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and gain valuable experience across high-end properties.
Job OverviewAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of mechanical systems across commercial properties, ensuring building systems remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities:- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Regular inspection and servicing of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services equipment.
- Reactive Maintenance: Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and pipework.
- Boiler and Plant Room Maintenance: Ensure all plant equipment is running efficiently and safely, identifying and resolving potential issues.
- HVAC Maintenance: Servicing and repair of air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and associated components.
- Water Hygiene Tasks: Conduct routine checks on water systems, ensuring compliance with legionella control requirements.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all site-specific safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Work Closely with Other Teams: Collaborate with electrical engineers and site management to deliver a seamless maintenance service.
- Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent
- Experience working in large commercial buildings, ideally in a maintenance role
- Good working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and general building services
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Good communication and organisational skills
