Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Ongoing Temp Contract

£25 – £28 per hour (Weekly Pay)

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team on an ongoing temporary contract in the City of London, working in large commercial buildings. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and gain valuable experience across high-end properties.

Job Overview

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of mechanical systems across commercial properties, ensuring building systems remain safe, reliable, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Regular inspection and servicing of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services equipment.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and pipework.
  • Boiler and Plant Room Maintenance: Ensure all plant equipment is running efficiently and safely, identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • HVAC Maintenance: Servicing and repair of air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and associated components.
  • Water Hygiene Tasks: Conduct routine checks on water systems, ensuring compliance with legionella control requirements.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all site-specific safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Work Closely with Other Teams: Collaborate with electrical engineers and site management to deliver a seamless maintenance service.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent
  • Experience working in large commercial buildings, ideally in a maintenance role
  • Good working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and general building services
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Good communication and organisational skills
