Electrician - Housing Repairs Team (West London Borough)A West London borough is seeking a skilled Electrician to join the Housing Repairs team. You will support the multi-disciplined works team by delivering compliant fire detection installations and carrying out effective electrical repairs. You’ll ensure all work meets the cost and quality standards of the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) throughout the borough. This will lookg at Testing throughtout the BoroughStart Date: ASAPContract Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential extensionWorking Days: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays (paid at a premium)Package:
  • PAYE: £185 per day or  Umbrella CIS: £235 per day (No Limited Companies accepted)

Key Qualifications (Essential):
  • C&G Part 2 or Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2)
  • 18th Edition BS7671 (C&G 2382-18)
Desirable Qualifications:
  • C&G 2391-52 Level 3 Inspection & Testing
  • C&G 2382-22 (18th Edition including latest amendments)
Job Purpose:You will be responsible for a variety of electrical work, including new installations, repairs, maintenance, fault finding, commissioning, and remedial works, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.You’ll work as part of a team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while providing professional, flexible service to meet customer needs.Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance, both internally and externally.
  • Work within scheduled appointments, coordinating with customers and team members to ensure timely job completion.
  • Use all necessary electrical tools and equipment for your duties, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Supervise and train apprentices or junior team members as needed.
  • Assess and pre-measure works to plan for material and labour requirements.
  • Use a company-issued PDA for receiving job instructions, completing work orders, and ordering materials.
  • Handle any required paperwork related to repair jobs.
  • Conduct general electrical duties, including renewing immersion heaters and shower units, as well as cutting and making good chases to walls and floors.
Requirements:
  • Valid UK Manual Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
  • Pass a basic DBS check
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition BS7671 certified
  • Basic knowledge of additional trade skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment
  • Self-motivated with a flexible, solution-oriented approach
