An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and dependable Critical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join my client's expert facilities team, maintaining a state-of-the-art financial services building in Central London. Operating within a high-stakes environment, you will ensure the uninterrupted functionality of essential building services and critical systems. This role demands a proactive professional with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on critical infrastructure systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), standby generators, switchgear, and critical cooling systems.
- Rapidly diagnose and resolve faults on critical systems to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of completed tasks, inspections, and repairs, updating the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required.
- Provide technical expertise during emergency scenarios, including power outages, system failures, and critical equipment breakdowns.
- Act as the first point of contact for critical systems during assigned shifts
- Work cohesively within a dedicated shift team to provide seamless maintenance coverage.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for specialized repairs or upgrades to building systems.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of system upgrades and enhancements.
Requirements:
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- City & Guilds 18th Edition
- High voltage exposure/experience (desirable)
