Field Applications Engineer - London

This award-winning company, based in London, is at the forefront of product research and development, specializing in industrial hardware and software design for the film, TV and entertainment industry. They are seeking a Field Applications Engineer to work closely with the Engineering team to develop new capabilities for state of the art systems.

Experience of electronics engineering is essential, as is the ability to undertake technical discussions, verbally in Chinese as well as in English.

Training on the company's products and technologies will be provided, but a keen interest in the video field would be an advantage. Good communication skills, particularly relating to technical matters, are also required.

The FAE will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with the product management team and the integration management team based in London as well as the team in Asia.

  • Assisting with the support for new driver ICs.
  • Debugging electronics designs.
  • Producing reference schematics.
  • Communication between the UK and Asia teams.
  • Helping to define priorities and timescales for development work.
  • Assisting with integration technical documentation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in electronics engineering - or equivalent.
  • Ability to fault-find and debug electronics.
  • Ability to undertake technical discussions, verbally in Chinese as well as in English.
  • Experience of working with engineers and communicating complex technical information.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, and demonstrate excellent time management.

Desirable Extras

  • Two years electronics design experience (recent Graduates will be considered)
  • A good understanding of electronics and video technology.
  • Prior experience working collaboratively with manufacturers.
  • An understanding of the manufacturing process.
