This role sits within a large complex cross government programme. You will advise technical teams and suppliers on cyber security decisions, help them design and implement effective controls and mitigation's for their particular risks. You get involved and embedded in projects and products early, helping teams undertake activities, and advising them on appropriate and pragmatic security to enable business outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead on projects with high strategic impact, setting a strategy that can be used in the long term and across the breadth of the organisation
- Communicate with a broad range of senior stakeholders and be responsible for defining the vision, principles and strategy for security architects
- Recommend security design across several projects or technologies, up to an organisational or inter-organisational level
- Apply and maintain specific security controls as required by organisational policy to maintain appropriate security of business systems.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on the application and operation of basic physical, procedural, and technical security controls.
- Make and influence important business and architectural decisions
- Proactively seek answers and build relationships internally within MoJ and across other departments
- Research, identify, validate and adopt new technologies and methodologies
- Be a recognised expert and demonstrate this expertise by solving unprecedented issues and problems
- Assess alignment of products and projects' cyber security with business, legislative, and government requirements.
