Yolk Recruitment are currently hiring for an SC CLEARED Network Security Engineer to support our client with a critical digital transformation on an initial 6 month contract with likely extension.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network faults, implementing preventative measures and advising on improvements.
- Perform regular system upgrades, network maintenance, and monitoring.
- Ensure network rooms are safe, secure, and compliant, liaising with Facilities Management and Security teams.
- Administer and maintain firewalls, with a primary focus on Fortinet solutions.
- Serve as the main contact for network infrastructure support requests and projects.
- Procure and manage network services and equipment effectively.
- Mentor and guide team members to build technical capabilities and foster team growth.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve system performance, security, and reliability.
- Participate in on-call support rotations, ensuring 24/7 operational coverage.
Key Skills / Experience Required:
- Firewalls and Security: Fortinet (primary focus), Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Juniper SRX, and F5 BIG-IP.
- Networking: Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Meraki; Juniper switches and routers.
- Load Balancers: F5 BIG-IP and Fortinet solutions.
- Network Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar platforms.
- Protocols and Standards: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VPN, and QoS.
You must hold Live Transferable Security Clearance to be considered for this role.
