Our client, a prominent player in the renewables sector, is currently seeking an experienced Array Cable Project Engineer to join their team in London on a contract basis. This role supports an essential offshore windfarm project involving cabling, electrical design, and high voltage electrical systems, with travel to various locations across the UK and Europe.



Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the engineering of supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables including associated connection equipment, in compliance with HV Cabling requirements and standards during project maturation and execution.
  • Leading the technical interfaces within the cable package by providing technical input to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Incorporating technical requirements from internal stakeholders into the design.
  • Evaluating suppliers' technical proposals and ensuring detailed design towards certification is signed off.
  • Reviewing supplier's engineering documentation and verifying product design using approved in-house tools.
  • Reviewing and accepting design of cable routes and routing plans on Offshore Substations & Foundations.
  • Providing technical input to project risks/opportunities, change requests, variation orders, and claims.
  • Responsible for Management of Change and providing input to technical audits and participating in quality audits with the QHSE team.
  • Defining and coordinating project-specific inspection and testing activities including those with Certified Verification Agent (CVA) involvement.
  • Reviewing and accepting quality-related documentation from suppliers including preparing internal Quality Activity Schedule (QAS) and Quality Activity Plan (QAP).
  • Preparing or adapting inspection checklists for testing activities during manufacturing and termination & testing phases using the Digital Inspection Tool (DIT).
  • Preparing and assigning Reference Designation System for Power Plants (RDS-PP) asset codes.
  • Preparing operations and maintenance documentation as part of the handover to O&M.
  • Responsible for the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) management and Lessons Learnt in Synergi.
  • Responsible for the electrical aspect of cables and thermal aspect of both cables and Cable Protection Systems (CPS).


Job Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of HV cable systems, encompassing electrical and thermal aspects, along with the ability to interpret industry standards and technical requirements.
  • Ability to offer effective technical solutions to challenges during project maturation and execution.
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience within high voltage array cables and accessories.
  • Possesses project engineering skills including technical proficiency, integrity, communication, adaptability, teamwork, and decision-making; preferably with experience using IT tools/procedures.
