A client of mine, a well-established Building Consultancy with a strong commercial surveying presence across the UK, is actively looking to speak with an experienced Associate Director - Commercial Building Surveyor, to join their expanding London office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior-level Building Surveyor to step into a leadership position, helping shape and grow the business whilst working on a variety of high-profile commercial projects.

With a history of delivering high-quality surveying solutions across both public and private sectors, my client is known for their technical excellence, client-first approach, and collaborative working environment. Their London team is continuing to grow, with a solid pipeline of instructions and long-term frameworks in place across the commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

The Associate Director's Role

This position will see the successful Associate Director taking a lead role across core project and professional building surveying services, with a particular focus on commercial portfolios. You'll be responsible for managing key client relationships, leading major instructions, and supporting junior surveyors through mentoring and technical guidance.

You will be expected to drive performance standards within the team and play a central role in business development, working closely with senior leadership to deliver on the company's strategic goals.

The Successful Associate Director Will Have

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline

  • MRICS qualification (or equivalent) essential

Knowledge and attributes:

  • Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of market trends and sector drivers

  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and leading client accounts

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior staff

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong attention to detail and a drive for high-quality service delivery

  • Experience working in a consultancy environment across both private and public sectors
