My client is seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join its Private Sector Housing Team. 聽In this role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment for all residents, businesses, and visitors. 聽The role involves responding to a variety of residential complaints and ensuring effective resolution through on-site assessments and appropriate follow-up actions.

The role will primarily be conducted in-office to facilitate site visits and efficient response management. There is flexibility for remote work 1-2 days per week for paperwork and documentation tasks

The Role
路Addressing incoming residential complaints related to issues such as damp, mould, overcrowding, and general housing conditions.
路Organizing and conducting property visits to carry out health and safety assessments.
路Preparing and issuing closing letters or formal notices to communicate findings and required actions.
路Applying housing legislation effectively to manage and resolve cases.
路Collaborating with stakeholders, including tenants and landlords, to achieve compliance.
路Supporting junior staff members by sharing knowledge and expertise.

The Ideal Candidate
路HHSRS Certificate is essential
路Demonstrated experience in a similar role, dealing with private sector housing issues.
路Strong working knowledge of key housing legislation and its application.
路Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
路Environmental Health Degree.
路Experience issuing formal housing-related notices.
路Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
路Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
