Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Community Safety and Corporate Resilience Manager for our client a local government organisation in Newham, London.

The successful post holder will manage the Community Safety and the Emergency Planning & Corporate Resilience Teams. Be part of the Community Safety Service management team and will be required to assist in understanding service requirements, performance and operations.

Oversee the production of good quality performance reports, outcomes data and management information to enable effective coordination and delivery of services. Provide professional advice and expertise their areas of responsibility to senior officers, politicians and partners.

This is initially a 3 month contract with the possibility to extend after that date. This role will be hybrid working.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop constructive relationships with external partners, such as the London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police, probation services, Clinical Commissioning Group and the Mental Health Trust and solicit their engagement and involvement in the partnership structure and processes.
  • Provide professional advice and expertise in the identification of factors that are impeding effective delivery processes and work with strategic and operational managers to outline the systems and processes that may involve the organisation, partner agencies and community-based resources.
  • Work closely and cooperatively with other managers, identifying the key issues that have an impact on community safety priorities and on safety in public spaces, and ensuring coordination of service delivery and multi-agency work in support of the organisation’s corporate aims and objectives. This would include overseeing the development and delivery of strategies for areas such as VAWG, Modern Slavery, Hate Crime and Violence Reduction.
  • Ensure the appropriate administration and progression of domestic abuse related death reviews, working in close partnership with Adults & Public Health services in regard to this responsibility and wider domestic abuse strategies.
  • Support the organisation’s role as a statutory member of Newham’s Community Safety Partnership and in furtherance of the organisation’s community safety and public reassurance objectives. This will include assisting in the development of the CSP’s budget and action plans.
  • Lead the development of the annual strategic assessment of crime and disorder and in production of the annual Community Safety Plan.
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance, and prepare reports for senior management and others as directed on issues relating to crime, disorder, emergency planning & corporate resilience.

Personal Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of crime reduction, community safety and/or corporate resilience related issues and legislation.
  • A working knowledge of local, regional and national policies in relation to community safety in diverse neighbourhoods.
  • Specific knowledge in some of the following areas: commissioning services to reduce antisocial behaviour and crime and disorder, community cohesion, use of enforcement powers, partnership and multi-agency working.
  • Educated to degree level or appropriate relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience within a community safety role and/or corporate resilience related role.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing projects and services to demanding deadlines and milestones.
  • Experience in handling major and/or emergency incidents.

Working Hours: 36hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / Monday to Friday

Pay: ÂŁ320.00 per day
