Key Responsibilities of the Catering Manager:
- Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan and execute large-scale catering events, including corporate functions, weddings, and VIP gatherings.
- Work closely with clients to create customized menus and ensure seamless event execution.
- Maintain high standards of protocol, etiquette, and food presentation.
- Operations & Staff Management
- Supervise catering teams, ensuring efficient coordination between kitchen and service staff.
- Conduct training on food handling, customer service, and high-end event execution.
- Ensure exceptional guest experience through high-quality service and attention to detail.
- Food & Beverage Quality Control
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to maintain superior quality.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Work with chefs to develop innovative and seasonal menus.
- Budgeting & Cost Management
- Manage catering budgets and control costs while maintaining excellence in service.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for the best pricing on ingredients and event essentials.
- Monitor inventory and minimize waste through efficient planning.
- Client Relations & Sales
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and private customers.
- Develop catering proposals and contracts with clear pricing and service expectations.
- Handle client feedback professionally and implement improvements.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all catering operations comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Train staff on food handling procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Maintain catering equipment and event venues in top condition.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in catering management, food service, or F&B operations
- Strong leadership, customer service, and negotiation skills
- Expertise in menu planning, dietary restrictions, and food presentation
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and oversee large-scale events
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple events simultaneously
