As a key leader within the organization, you will play a strategic role in shaping the operations of a dynamic and fast-paced events portfolio, while mentoring and guiding a talented team to achieve excellence.
In this role, you will be responsible for the operational management of high-profile conferences, awards, and roundtables. You will oversee event logistics, budgeting, and team development, ensuring seamless execution of each event, from inception to post-event evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Event Management: Oversee the operational delivery of a portfolio of events throughout the year, ensuring high-quality execution from planning to post-event analysis.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of junior operations staff, providing regular performance reviews, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Budget & Resource Management: Design and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery without compromising quality. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to optimise resource allocation across the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, editorial, and production teams to ensure alignment, smooth logistics, and effective delivery of event content.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Proactively introduce new ideas to enhance event quality, operational efficiency, and innovation. Stay up to date with industry trends and apply best practices.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Extensive Experience: Ideally 8–10 years of experience managing complex events within a B2B conference environment.
- Operational Expertise: Strong background in managing event logistics, including venue sourcing, supplier negotiation, and end-to-end budget management.
- Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring junior team members, fostering a supportive and high-performance culture.
- Strategic Outlook: A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while implementing improvements across operational processes.
