Highly prestigious London Body are looking for an experienced Senior Event Manager to take the lead on their Ceremonial Hospitality Events – these are made up of high visibility Banquets, Receptions and Special Events at some of London’s most beautiful heritage and livery venues, and are attended by diverse audiences, and often including Royalty, Politicians, VVIP International Guests as well as the great and good of our amazing capital city.  This VERY special role is a 12 month mat cover and would see you working on some of the most prestigious and high visibility hospitality events that London stages – a truly special role and opportunity! This role is a 12 month mat cover.

Role
You’ll be working in the established, friendly and highly supportive expert events team within this special London Body.  With the support of your Senior Lead, working in a great team, you’ll be the lead Senior Event Manager for your  own events – these will fall into the ‘Ceremonial’ area – banquets, receptions, lunches, dinners, business/charity receptions or commemorative events, from 20 -700 people. All within some of London’s most beautiful and historical venues. You’ll work closely with committee and stakeholders, and other internal departments, from initial event proposal and guest lists, through guest list management, planning of all event aspects, tastings, briefings, table plans – liaising will all relevant wider internal and external project members throughout eg security, venue, other London institutions, private offices etc - to final on the day delivery, of these highly prestigious events, where the spotlight shines on every tiny detail from guest arrival to their final departure.  This is a fantastic role that will see you working on the highest level of events and working in some of London’s most historical venues. You
Your event management skills are exemplary, and you have a proven background of superlative delivery of varied formal events, and particularly Dinners, Banquets, Receptions and special events, with an often high profile audience.  You’ll ideally have experience working at varied historical venues, including livery halls and similar heritage spaces. Ideally you’ll have experience of working to Committees and senior level stakeholders, and of dealing with varied high level bodies including for example embassies, royalty, senior level business, charity and community representatives.  Able to deal with varied external parties eg Security, Protocol etc would be highly beneficial. We are looking for someone who is confident and can quickly find their feet and ownership within the team, so you’ll need to have stamina and energy!  Specifically we are looking for someone who can bring proven experience of:

  • End to end delivery of hi-end hospitality events, banquets, dinners, receptions from more intimate gatherings to large number reception events eg 700 pax
  • Experience working with particular hi level institutions/bodies, where considerations of protocol, high level security are the norm, is highly desirable (Royalty, Government, Embassies, Charities, Associations/Bodies etc and associated protocols)
  • Experience working directly and confidently with senior level stakeholders/committees – able to support and guide your main stakeholders through the event cycle and activities
  • Experience of Guest list research, invitations, table plans etc (ideal)
  • Exemplary professional skills of managing all event aspects end to end particularly event logistic aspects catering, leading on tastings, suppliers, running order, briefings, security, people flow, etc as lead event project manager
  • Prepare all briefings etc and be confident co-ordinator on all aspects of the event – able to lead internal teams and work with varied internal departments and external suppliers to achieve event standards and highest expectations pre event and on the day
  • Level headed, able to deal with wide variety of people and contacts at all levels
  • Excellent communicator, well presented, diplomatic, approachable, a true events ‘Swan’
  • Numerate, attention to detail, eye for absolute perfection, loves events!
