Join one of the world’s great libraries as an Executive Assistant, providing high-quality administrative support to the Chief Executive and Board Chair. This temporary position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to contribute to the effective management of our executive offices.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Executive and Board Chair, ensuring efficient day-to-day operation of the office.
  • Research, prepare, and coordinate briefings and reports for meetings.
  • Manage the CEO’s budget in collaboration with the Head of Governance, ensuring compliance with budget and policy for expenditures.
  • Line manage the Administrative Support Officer, delegating tasks and supervising as appropriate.
  • Screen, prioritise, and handle communications via telephone, post, and email.
  • Liaise with other Business Support Officers and Assistants across the Library to maintain high standards of service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Substantial experience as a personal assistant at a senior level in a large, high-profile organisation.
  • Strong research and briefing skills, particularly on governmental issues.
  • Experience in managing complaints using specific published policies.
  • Proven management and supervision experience of direct support staff.
  • Excellent diary management and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with very senior officials, including Ministers and Permanent Secretaries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • High standard of written and spoken English for drafting correspondence and documentation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
