Analyst Assistant - Graduate Role

Bridging Finance

We are working with a leading independent bridging finance provider based in the United Kingdom. With a strong presence in the market, they specialise in offering fast and flexible bridging loans and buy-to-let mortgages.

The purpose of the Analyst Assistant role is to work closely with the Senior Analysts. The responsibilities typically include conducting extensive research and analysis to gather insights and performing support tasks such as preparing and processing documents, payments, paperwork required for the senior analyst team as well as coordinating with different departments to gather data, answering calls and correspondence, liaising with external parties such as accountants, auditors and participating in developing plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain various models to manage and summarise large datasets.
  • Financial Analyst responsibilities ranging from mini models to full model reworking.
  • Assist in developing audit plans and gather relevant documentation and data for audits.
  • Gather and review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  • Verify the accuracy of financial information, property appraisals, and other supporting documents.
  • Liaise with external auditors to address and resolve audit queries.
  • Gather comprehensive documentation and data necessary for audits.
  • Conduct thorough audits of property loan portfolios to assess compliance with internal policies, Funding line and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyse audit findings and prepare detailed reports and monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment and communicate audit results to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage a structured audit schedule.
  • Update the monthly reporting of the funding lines and forward them to the accountants.
  • Manage the external loan tape of all loans ensure that analysis is completed from the model so that the figures can be published quarterly.
  • Automate data processes and reporting using Excel.
  • Performing logic review of existing model across a range of funding lines.

Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Experience with financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • The candidate must be flexible and personable with the ability to think on their feet.
  • With excellent accuracy & time management skills.
  • Financial & accounting analysis knowledge advantageous.
