We are looking for Client Asset Analyst to work in our Client Asset Team, within the Finance Department. The role reports to the Principal Client Asset Analyst. The team works closely with all departments within the company to ensure compliance with our client money obligations.

Background and purpose of role:

  • To assist the Client Asset Management Team in ensuring the firm is in compliance with its obligations under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Client Asset Money regime (CASS).
  • Assist in the day to day management of client assets throughout the group.

Key responsibilities and duties to include the following:

  • Preparing the daily internal client money reconciliations for the FCA regulated firms and overseas subsidiaries.
  • Prepare Daily client money related MI for the relevant business units.
  • Reporting & Analysis of Daily Client Asset Activity.
  • Funding client money accounts & managing Counterparty exposures in line with Policy.
  • Dealing with Client Asset queries.
  • Assist in Preparation of Client Money Asset Returns (CMAR) reporting.
  • Work with other teams throughout the organisation to ensure their processes which impact client money are adequate and effective in protecting client money.
  • Assist in the annual external CASS Audit.
  • Assist with internal audits and Compliance Monitoring programme.

General

  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training
  • When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Sound understanding of CASS rules, specifically CASS 6, 7, 8 & 10
  • Good working knowledge of financial markets and related products, ability to identify, analyse and resolve complex issues working to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of operational cash management and reconciliations.
  • AutoRek user/implementation experience desired
  • IT competent, particularly MS Office (Advanced Excel and Word)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Confident communicator
  • Good understanding of accounting and reconciliations
  • Experience working in an annual CASS audit desired
