Your new companyI am working exclusively with an Innovation Charity, and we are looking for a Research Investment Officer to join the Regional Investments team on a short term basis. The purpose of the role is to continue to develop and support the charities' private investment network, and support colleagues in their interactions with businesses and in leveraging investment into UK innovation. Typically, this will be through blending public innovation funding with private finance in areas where investment in innovation can create a positive change.

The role sits within the Business Development team and encompasses all aspects of building our external network of contacts, our knowledge and capability around private investment in innovation.

Your new roleThe successful candidate will be:

  • Research into regional investors, how our investor partners are spread regionally and identifying targets for next year.
  • Initiating a report of findings from events held by the regional team in 2024 and exploring ways to present this publicly.
  • Identify key investor's events for 2025.
  • Research outcomes from investment team KPIs in 2024 e.g. have had an impact on increasing private capital into UK innovation.
  • Research and support for first quarter IRIS events (Regional Investor Spotlight events).
  • Updating KPIs and other general administration tasks.

What you'll need to succeedThis position is ideal for someone who:

  • Has a degree, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with investors, ideally with a regional UK focus.
  • Experience with on desk research on investment communities and events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently and build effective relationships.
  • Proactive creative thinking and problem-solving.
  • High level of IT literacy.
