My client an international law firm are seeking an Accounts Payable Compliance Manager with a robust understanding of accounting principles and compliance standards. This role involves implementing and monitoring effective control measures, managing audits, and enhancing the accounts payable compliance framework. If you have a strong regulatory background and are keen on continuous learning, this position offers a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Update processes in accordance with changes to accounting standards, laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with the firm’s policies.
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external audits related to accounts payable, preparing documentation and reports for auditors.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to accounts payable processes, identifying potential compliance risks and control weaknesses.
  • Implement and manage a vendor due diligence process to assess and monitor vendor compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager to build training programs and provide guidance on compliance, policies, and procedures.
  • Keep the finance team informed about changes in compliance requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Generate and analyse reports related to compliance metrics, providing regular updates to management.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Control team to ensure a comprehensive approach to compliance and communicate requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Solid and proven experience in a similar position with strong regulatory knowledge.
  • Audit and/or compliance background preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of or part qualified in ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW, or qualified by experience.
  • Keenness for continuous learning to ensure organisational controls and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong assessment and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and implement changes to controls.
