A leading UK Top 50 Accountancy firm has seen significant development within the last 18 months through successful acquisitions and organic growth. They advise businesses, government and public sector organisations, and individuals in the UK and internationally across seven principal practice groups: Accountancy & Advisory, Tax and Planning, Audit Services, Corporate Finance, Digital Solutions, Payroll, and Financial Planning.

Purpose of the Role:

This is an essential role to the success of the firm, providing support to client-facing teams, external clients, and all colleagues. Reporting to the Business Support Manager, the Team Leader will oversee the daily operations of the business support team across sites, ensuring high-quality administrative and office management support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the business support team, including workload management and delegation of tasks.
  • Work alongside the team to meet day-to-day demands by taking a hands-on approach in delivering support service requests.
  • Ensure that all administrative processes are efficient and meet the firm’s standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for client queries and issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to support the firm’s business objectives.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the performance and development of the team to meet department objectives.
  • Support the Business Support Manager in preparing regular reports on team performance, client service metrics, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to improve service delivery.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience (knowledge of managing staff).
  • Professional Services background.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
