We are a London-based communications agency on the hunt for a Finance Director to join our multi-disciplined and growing team.

Reporting to the parent company CFO, the FD will be responsible for leading the UK finance team, covering financial reporting, management accounting, commercial finance and FP&A, and providing insight and guidance to ongoing projects across the organisation. The Finance Director will be working closely with the agency Partners on a day to day basis, and will be responsible for managing and developing a small finance team to deliver timely production of financial information, ensuring its integrity and accuracy at all times.

The Role

路 Cash management, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving strategic decision making.

路 Lead day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR/Payroll.

路 Improving accounting processes and controls.

路 Responsible for overseeing quarterly VAT return and dealing with any associated queries.

路 Reviewing payroll and any associated tax issues or reconciliations.

路 Ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations.

路 Organising and managing the annual external audit process as well as acting as the main point of contact during the audit.

路 Production of management accounts including P&L review, variance analysis, and accurate forecasting.

路 Overseeing and continually improving the quality of the management packs provided to the stakeholders.

路 Production of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packs for the parent company.

路 Understanding the full financial control environment and ensuring that control processes are in place to mitigate all risks.

路 Provide support, training, and development for other finance team members.

路 Support the implementation of new processes and controls, and the implementation of new systems.

路 Liaising with the Account Management and New Business teams to manage existing and new clients.

路 Working with the Partners & New Business team on pitch responses and RFIs.

Skills / experience

路 ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified.

路 Experience in a group or network within the advertising and marketing sector a must.

路 Proven team player with leadership skills including the ability to coach and motivate others.

路 The ability to lead a small but best in class finance team.

路 Have interpersonal skills sufficient to support, advise and influence managers from different parts of the business whilst providing strong financial control where necessary.

路 Hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

路 Up to date knowledge of both UK Gaap and IFRS. Knowledge of US Gaap ideal but not essential.

路 Advanced knowledge of Excel required.

路 Experience in and of the US market ideal, but not essential.
