An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and forward-thinking accountant to join the Financial Management Team within a dynamic Acute NHS Trust.

Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Management, this pivotal Finance Manager role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the Oracle finance systems database, processes, and reporting. You will play a critical part in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to corporate divisions to support their regular reporting cycles.

A key element of the role involves managing the relationship with the Trust’s outsourced finance systems provider (SBS), as well as contributing to financial planning activities. You will also take the lead in designing and developing complex ad hoc reports and conducting in-depth financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.

About You:You will be a qualified accountant (or possess an equivalent qualification) with proven experience in a senior management accounting or financial management role within an acute NHS trust. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build effective working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.

In addition, you will bring:

  • A strong background in financial systems development, ideally with hands-on Oracle experience
  • A good working knowledge of SBS processes and interactions
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly assimilate and interpret large volumes of data
  • Advanced Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail
