Finance Manager | Fast-Growth Renewable Energy Scale-up | London (Hybrid)

The Client

Harmonic is pleased to be working with a dynamic renewable energy business entering an exciting growth phase, in which they are looking to expand their business offering. Our client is rebuilding their finance function to support rapid expansion and ambitious new projects.

This entrepreneurial, family-oriented business offers a supportive culture that encourages growth, flexibility, and collaboration.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Manager will initially oversee a broad range of transactional finance tasks, evolving rapidly into a Financial Controller role within 12 months. This position offers significant exposure to both internal and external financial reporting, business partnering, and strategic financial management.

Initially weighted toward core financial reporting, you will support project finance activities, manage relationships with outsourced providers, and deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting for multiple SPVs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis.
  • Manage monthly accruals, cash flow forecasting, and equity commitment schedules.
  • Coordinate PPA invoices, payment runs, and financial covenant reporting.
  • Prepare and present financial reports for project company boards and external stakeholders.
  • Lead audits and preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Support the CFO with group-level financial audits and tax compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Liaise with tax advisors and assist in structuring new investment projects efficiently.
  • Prepare VAT returns for managed entities.
  • Act as a business partner, supporting project managers and operational stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.

Essential Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years PQE
  • Solid understanding of financial modelling and project finance.
  • Proficient with accounting systems.

Desired Experience (non-essential)

  • Direct experience in renewable energy or BESS sectors.
  • Exposure to managing SPV structures and outsourced financial reporting.

Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 + Bonus

Location: London, Hybrid (3-4 days per week in office)
