Reed are acting on behalf of a prestigious food company who are seeking a dedicated Accounts and Bookkeeping Specialist to join their team. This role involves a wide range of accounting tasks, including customer invoicing, credit control, financial reporting, and payroll management. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all financial and accounting regulations and legislation, ensuring accurate financial management and reporting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Administer and prepare customer invoicing and handle customer debit notes, contacting customers as required.
  • Manage credit control and chase overdue invoices.
  • Deal with weekly reporting of sales information to lenders and prepare monthly reconciliations.
  • Record customer payments and manage direct debits and standing orders.
  • Assist with the preparation of short-term budgets and bookkeeping up to trial balance.
  • Undertake analysis of financial data and provide clerical and administrative support to management.
  • Prepare VAT returns and manage cash flow forecasting.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and the chart of accounts.
  • Update weekly and monthly sales figures and calculate sales commissions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations and legislation.
  • Prepare monthly payroll and handle HMRC filings and pension submissions.
  • Responsible for 2 direct reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
