Role: Finance Manager

Location: Hybrid Working - Central London

Money on offer: Day rate - £300-350 per day Umbrella PAYE

Experienced Finance Manager sought for a central government organisation based in Central London, on an interim basis for a period of minimum two months.

You will be an expert in preparing budgets, monthly accounts and associated analysis and have experience of all aspects of accounting.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of budgets, monthly accounts and associated analysis.
  • Preparation of Grant-in-Aid applications
  • Maintenance of the CS Register of assets
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Preparation of Performance Reports for the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee
  • Completion / production of monthly reconciliation reports
  • Staff pensions
  • Completion of online Corporation Tax return
  • Preparation of returns for DBT & HMT (e.g. Period Forecast & Period Actuals)
  • Preparation of Accruals / Pre-payments journal.

The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager role should have:

  • an accountancy qualification from ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, ICAS, CAI or CIPFA
  • experience within central government or wiser public sector
  • excellent stakeholder management skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to hit the ground running
  • ability to manage own workload, coping with changing priorities in a flexible and proactive way
  • ability to communicate complex financial issues effectively, orally and in writing
  • personal resilience
  • ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a complex environment to deliver the team's functions.
