Finance Manager 

  • Day Rate: Circa £300-£400 per day

Our client a dynamic and rapidly growing engineering and construction services business are seeking a qualified Finance Manager to join their team on short notice on an initial interim basis.

The company is involved within high-profile projects across Europe, and they require an experienced Finance Manager level contractor who can hit the ground running play a key role within the finance team in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting whilst providing strategic insights.

This role will require an experienced contractor who has demonstrated skills in preparing full sets of management accounts, preparing budgets and managing payroll. In return you will have exposure to some exciting projects and work within a supportive team, with the chance of a permanent opportunity following. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports for senior management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting, Cost Analysis and Performance Analysis: Margin Analysis, profitability analysis and financial performance against key business metrics to determine progress again budgets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Advisory: Advise management on the financial implications of business activities and provide strategic recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand and analyse their financial needs and challenges.
  • Manage UK payroll
  • System Proficiency: Utilise advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Qualified Accountant either ACA, ACCA or CIMA and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in management accounting or Finance Manager capacity as a contractor.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Knowledge of working with Xero Accounting
    • Experience preparing payroll
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
    • Self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision.
    • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a start-up environment.
    • Knowledge of UK employment compliance, income tax, and payroll processing is an advantage.
