Reed Accountancy are partnering with a well established international art group to recruit a hands-on Finance Manager.

Reporting to the Financial Controller with responsibility for the oversight and control of the group's London accounting function, including weekly cashflow reporting, production of monthly management accounts, analysis of projects and balance sheet reporting as well as assisting in the production of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting process.

Management Accounts

  • Contribute to accurate and fully reconciled monthly management accounts to the agreed timetable ensuring full understanding of significant variances to budget and to prior year for each entity.
  • Work closely with budget managers & the Financial Controller to monitor and analyse costs and ensure targeted savings are achieved.
  • Reviewing overhead costs ensuring appropriate accruals and prepayments are in place.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process.
  • Business partnering, supporting Department heads with ad hoc management reporting requirements.

Financial Control

  • Ensuring compliance with all UK VAT requirements.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain effective balance sheet controls, particularly in respect of key control account reconciliations.
  • Manage the approval and KYC review of all UK invoicing.
  • Monitor cash collection and provide ad hoc credit control support for the Sales Directors.
  • Ensure SAP B1 is being used optimally and with appropriate controls.
  • Ensure Concur Expense/Management is being used optimally and with appropriate controls for staff expenses and in the near future for third party vendors
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that queries are resolved within acceptable timescales
  • Continuous review of internal processes

Essential skills and attributes

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced business environment
  • Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience 
  • Strong IT skills including intermediate MS Excel (Sumifs, vlookup, Pivot tables) which will be assessed as part of the interview process
  • Motivated individual with excellent time management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven record of demonstrating an ability to work on their own or within a group setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong focus on providing an excellent service to internal and external customers

Desirable skills and attributes

  • Experience with the use of Salesforce, SAP B1 and Concur
  • Experience of working in creative industries
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation structure
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, ensuring stakeholder support
  • Able to adhere to & enforce current policies & an ability to develop/implement new policies to improve the overall financial performance, security & reliability of information.
