Are you an experienced finance professional ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic international NGO? This global organisation, known for its complex funding model and diverse operations, is seeking an Interim Head of Financial Services to steer their financial operations during a pivotal transition.
The role will lead a busy, multi-faceted team and in addition to running business as usual, will identify solutions to streamlining workload and implementing a more defined team structure. Offered on an initial six month basis, this role is based in Central London on a hybrid basis.
The Role
- Lead the Financial Services team, overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Manage the team during a high-pressure period, ensuring smooth business-as-usual operations while assessing and improving processes.
- Work closely with leadership to evaluate team structure, streamline workflows, and develop strategies to alleviate resource challenges.
- Ensure the audit process remains on track, maintaining strong relationships with auditors.
- Play a key role in the implementation planning of a new ERP system.
- Support the organisation as it navigates a period of significant global and political change, ensuring financial systems and processes are fit for purpose.
What We’re Looking For
- Chartered Accountant with strong technical expertise in financial accounting in line with SORP and financial controls.
- A seasoned finance leader with experience in interim or project-based roles, particularly within complex INGO/NGO’s.
- Proven expertise in managing and restructuring teams, driving efficiency, and implementing sustainable changes.
- A hands-on, problem-solving approach, with the ability to balance immediate operational demands with longer-term strategic planning.
