A well-established charity is seeking a Head of Finance to join their leadership team. This is a senior role where you will oversee the finance function, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive strategic planning, business development, and the financial strategy of the organisation. You will also be responsible for budgeting, financial modelling, and managing the year-end production process.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the finance function, overseeing day-to-day operations while focusing on long-term strategic planning.
- Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting process for both management teams and trustees.
- Review and update financial policies to ensure they support the organisation's growth and mission.
- Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive income generation and business development initiatives.
- Supervise credit control, banking, and financial transactions, ensuring smooth operations across the finance department.
- Oversee payroll, statutory accounts, and liaise with external Auditors during year-end production.
Paying up to £45,000 FTC, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial landscape of a growing organisation while being involved in decision-making at the highest level. The ideal candidate will:
- Be a part- or fully-qualified Accountant.
- Have experience in a small organisation, ideally within the not-for-profit sector, with a strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounts, and SORP.
- Be comfortable managing a range of finance functions, from credit control to financial modelling.
- Possess strong people skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
- Have the capacity to step up to line management and take a proactive role in organisational decision-making.
