Senior Commercial Business Partner - Sport

Leading sports digital media business with years of experience producing in premium sports events such as Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, Formula One World Championship, UEFA Champions League, Europa League, European Qualifiers and many others are looking for a qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA Senior Commercial Business Partner to add commercial insight and value to their expanding business.

This is a highly commercial role with direct exposure to major European football clubs, sports bodies and organisations and sports rightsholders. Working with highly experienced leaders of the commercialisation of the sports industry

Job specification:

  • Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner reporting to the Co-CEOs responsible for group cost management, revenue targeting and all financial contract matters
  • Using financial management skills, manage all financial contractual matters and responsible for cash flow forecasting on revenue and cost contracts
  • Using FP&A skills, identify, report and achieve cost savings with timely financial analysis alongside driving revenue margins on contract planning and client negotiations
  • Work closely with Head of Media Sales to plan and manage financial commercial rights strategy and to achieve optimal margin
  • Report monthly performance to Group finance team and support accounting function with revenue and cost recognition strategy

Desired Skills & Background:

  • University degree 2:1 or better in either finance, business or commercial sports
  • ACCA / ACA / CIMA equivalent accounting or finance qualification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A in commercial sports / commercial rights management
  • Experience in cash flow management and cash flow forecasting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously, including production team (cost management), sales team (revenue targets), executive leadership team (C-suite and Board) and Group finance function
  • KPI focused with financial targets on achieving EBITDA and GM
  • Experience working with or for major sports organisations (sports leagues, clubs, other rights holders)
  • Understanding of the role of technology in virtual advertisement in sport
  • Wider interest and understanding for European football and global sport
