We are currently representing a prestigious bank in their search for a dedicated Trade Finance Supervisor. This vital role within the bank's Trade Finance Department involves overseeing the processing and authorisation of import and export Letters of Credit, ensuring all operations adhere to regulatory standards and bank policies.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:- Oversee the processing and authorisation of import and export Letters of Credit, including related amendments, document negotiations, and payments.
- Manage SWIFT messages such as MT700 - MT707, MT750 - MT752, and MT754 - MT756.
- Ensure accurate processing of charges and accounting entries.
- Conduct thorough checks on documents received to ensure compliance with the issued Letters of Credit.
- Handle general administration tasks, including maintaining communication with customers regarding LC documents, payments due, and other related Trade Finance issues.
- Perform financial crime checks as required, ensuring all transactions comply with the bank's policies and regulatory standards.
- Extensive knowledge of UCP600 and all Trade Finance products, including Import and Export LCs, Guarantees, Collections, Discounting, Forfaiting, and Confirmations.
- Familiarity with Money Laundering procedures and UK Proceeds of Crime Act.
- Understanding of the financial crime risks within Trade Finance products and the ability to conduct risk assessments.
- Knowledge of FCA Thematic Review 2013, Wolfsberg Principles relating to Trade Finance, and the JMLSG.
- Awareness of EU, UK, and US financial sanctions regimes and regulations.
- Proficiency in Compliance/AML/Sanctions with the ability to identify and escalate potential red flags.
- Excellent organisational, numerical, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
