Investment Risk Manager

Calling all experienced Investment Risk Managers. Our client, a prominent financial organisation, is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their global investment risk team. This is a 12-month position, offering an exciting opportunity to lead a team of dedicated risk analysts and contribute to the success of their investment risk oversight function.

As the Investment Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in analysing portfolios to provide valuable insights on risk management. You will also have the opportunity to coach and train other members of the Investment Risk Team, sharing your expertise and contributing to the growth of the team and the wider organisation. Your managerial skills will be put to the test as you provide cover for senior managers and mentor your team of analysts.

Key responsibilities and requirements include:

• Utilising your deep knowledge of investment risk and proven analytical skills to identify and assess prevailing and emerging risks in our client's portfolios and products.
• Being an integral part of the investment risk governance process, attending meetings and providing expert input.
• Delivering investment risk reporting to senior management, effectively communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Collaborating with internal shared service providers to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives.
• Demonstrating leadership by taking ownership of the Investment Risk Framework process and maintaining risk tolerances and limits.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in risk systems and analytical techniques, sharing your knowledge with the team and driving innovation.
• Supporting client relationship and business development teams with investment risk information as needed.
• Acting as a resource for senior management, providing insightful analysis and contributing to independent research on our client's fund range.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in investment risk management, with a strong background in risk analysis, coaching, and training.
• Proven track record in leadership and managerial roles, demonstrating the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
• Excellent data analysis skills and the ability to interpret and escalate key findings effectively.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Solid understanding of derivative positions and their impact on portfolios.
• Previous experience in the finance industry, with a deep understanding of governance and risk management frameworks.
• Relevant certifications (CFA, FRM, etc.) would be advantageous.
