Our client, one of the world's largest custodian banks and securities services companies, is seeking an Investment Risk Manager to join their dynamic team in London. Position: Investment Risk Manager
Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)
Location: London
Daily Rate: £850 via Umbrella Company
Responsibilities:
- Provide managerial cover as a senior manager within the global investment risk team for a 12-month period
- Manage and mentor a team of risk analysts within the 2LOD analytical risk function
- Analyse portfolios to gain insights into their management and identify any investment risk issues
- Provide coaching, support, and training on investment risk matters to team members and wider business
- Contribute to the effective management and development of the investment risk oversight function
- Deliver investment risk MI/reporting to Board, governance, and management forums
- Collaborate with internal shared service providers to ensure seamless operations
- Support the development and maintenance of the Investment Risk Framework process
- Operate daily, weekly, and monthly requirements for analysing, interpreting, and escalating risk output
- Produce and contribute to meeting packs for investment risk related meetings
- Support routine analysis and reporting from ex-ante risk systems
- Assist with the development of new analytical tools and reporting
- Provide investment risk information to investment teams, client relationship, and business development teams
- Contribute to independent research on the organisation's fund range and product offering
Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of financial markets
- In-depth understanding of Investment Risk Frameworks
- Previous experience managing and leading others with coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent stakeholder management with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Excel with strong analytical skills
- Proactive self-starter with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment
- Flexibility to work the hours required by the business
