Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the dynamic team at St George's NHS Trust. The role involves providing comprehensive care and assessment for patients with complex needs, including trauma, neurosurgical, and neuro-oncology cases. The successful candidate will play a vital role in facilitating patient recovery and discharge planning within NHS pathways.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex patient assessments, including initial, motor, sensory, cognitive, and functional evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized care and rehabilitation plans.
  • Perform discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Provide expertise in specialist seating and equipment recommendations.
  • Make and document mental capacity decisions in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Competence with iClip notes system is strongly desirable.
  • Proven experience in rehabilitation, working with older adults and patients with physical and cognitive deficits.
  • Strong team-working and communication skills within a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
