Behaviour Mentor - North West London

Nurture Education is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to work in a school in North West London, supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and helping them reach their full potential.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and pastoral staff to provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils who may have behavioural, social, or emotional difficulties. You will help create a positive and structured learning environment, implementing strategies to improve engagement, confidence, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with students, acting as a positive role model.

  • Support students in managing their behaviour and emotions, helping them develop resilience and coping strategies.

  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour plans and interventions.

  • Provide one-to-one mentoring and small group support to help students stay engaged in their learning.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and self-confidence through tailored support.

  • Assist in de-escalating challenging situations and promoting a calm, inclusive environment.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents where necessary.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, or mentoring setting.

  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.

  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and a patient, supportive approach.

  • Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.

  • Knowledge of mental health, SEN, or safeguarding (desirable but not essential).

  • A reliable and proactive team player who can work independently when needed.
