I am delighted to be working with an established UK Law firm in their search for a Billing Coordinator to join their London office. Joining a billing team of 3 this is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing Law firm.

The duties of the role include:

  • Serve as the primary contact for queries and requests from lawyers across multiple regions.
  • Coordinate and distribute the monthly billing workload, including preparing WIP reports, amending WIP, drafting, and finalizing bills. Assist paralegals with billing queries and support the billing team.
  • Manage eBilled clients, including uploading LEDES files and bills, onboarding new eBilled clients, managing client invoices and rates, and handling invoice rejections and queries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal billing procedures.
  • Communicate with clients.
  • Collaborate with the accounts team.
  • Manage disbursements.
  • Request the opening of new case files.
  • Costs Analysis:
  • Generate reports and assist in monitoring WIP and billed fees to ensure budget compliance.
  • Aid in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and monitoring compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of interim and final statements of costs.

The needed experience is:

  • 1-2 years of experience in legal billing and/or patent prosecution billing/client invoicing is highly preferred.
  • Experience with e-billing systems.
  • Previous experience in accounting.
  • Professional demeanour - personable, well-prepared, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to manage personal workload and ensure high standards of completion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Initiative and a strong desire to consistently exceed expectations.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Resilient and adaptable.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • High attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
