Bridging Underwriter | Central London | Salary up to £60, 000 Joining an established bridging underwriting team you'll be responsible for assessing and underwriting complex bridging applications from brokers, direct applicants and intermediaries in line with lending policy and risk appetite. Experience Required:
  • You must have prior experience in underwriting in the short term lending sector.
  • You will have a good understanding of, and demonstrate an interest in bridging finance & the short-term lending market and general market conditions on a day-to-day basis.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a common sense approach to lending. 
  • Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to provide clear rationale for decision making.
As a Bridging Underwriter you will be responsible for:
  • Managing your own pipeline of cases from loan application to completion.
  • Assess and resolve risk-related issues with applications.
  • Assess full case documentation including credit reports and KYC documentation to ensure AML policy and lending policy are adhered to.
  • Review valuation reports and make an assessment as to suitability of the security property for short-term lending along with a full assessment of LTV with a rationale for the same.
  • Approve and reject applications in line with policy, referring to Compliance and/or Senior Leadership where appropriate.
  • Produce a high quality and articulate loan synopsis for each case, presenting a clear rationale for proceeding with the loan.
  • Communicate with all relevant parties throughout the loan application, building professional relationships with them.
