Your new roleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDM Advisor & Principal Designer to join a strong, successful and growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and providing expert advice on health and safety matters throughout the design and construction phases of a range of projects within a wide range of sectors, including housing, education, health, care, blue light, commercial, and regeneration and mixed use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Principal Designer under CDM 2015, ensuring all health and safety risks are identified and managed.
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and contractors to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into the design process.
  • Prepare and review pre-construction information, ensuring it is comprehensive and accurate.
  • Conduct design risk assessments and provide guidance on risk mitigation.
  • Liaise with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other regulatory bodies as required.
  • Deliver training and support to project teams on CDM and health and safety matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
  • Membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
