The Role
This position focuses on working with an impressive portfolio of clients in the electronics and high-tech sectors, ranging from start-ups to global corporations. You will be entrusted with handling complex patent matters, developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of the firm’s electronics practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the UKIPO, EPO and other international patent offices
- Advising clients on IP strategy, including portfolio development and management
- Conducting patentability, freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses
- Handling opposition and appeal proceedings at the EPO
- Providing bespoke advice to clients and maintaining strong professional relationships
- Supporting the team by mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Dual-qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney with 1-3 years’ PQE
- A strong academic background in electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience managing diverse and complex patent portfolios
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and legal concepts clearly
- A client-focused, proactive approach with strong organisational and analytical abilities
