About the Role

Westminster City Council is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented FOI Officer to join our Information Management Team. This is a hybrid role where you will play a vital part in ensuring compliance with Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection legislation by supporting casework and managing your own caseload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logging and triaging FOI and Data Protection cases.

  • Actioning cases, including contacting officers across the council to gather relevant information.

  • Reviewing information to ensure compliance with disclosure legislation.

  • Redacting sensitive information in line with statutory requirements.

  • Providing reminders to case owners of upcoming deadlines.

  • Completing associated administration tasks to support casework operations.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and compliance in all documentation and case management.

  • Clear and Analytical Thinking: Reviewing and processing complex information with clarity.

  • Time Management Skills: Handling large volumes of work while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous administration experience.

  • Experience in handling Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests.

  • Proven ability to manage a caseload, including responding to requests and meeting deadlines.

  • Familiarity with reviewing and redacting information for disclosure purposes.

  • Competency in using MS Office applications and case management systems.
