This award-winning, media agency based in central London seeks an exceptional HR generalist with strong operational and strategic experience to join them as their Head of HR for a 9 month maternity cover contract. The client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible, at a month's notice or less.  

You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the UK HR function, leading ad hoc projects, supporting and mentoring a small HR teams, and strategically partnering with senior managers in ensuring a high performing and inclusive culture and a first class people experience.

Based in the office three days per week with two days able to be worked remotely. 

Reporting into the Global HRD, your role will include

  • Driving HR initiatives and change programmes
  • Coaching, supporting, mentoring and challenging senior leaders and line managers in the application of HR Policies and practices, including performance management, organisational design, RDI and training and development
  • Providing advice and guidance on complex HR issues in order to minimise risk to the business
  • Effectively measuring HR activity, presenting relevant data and analysis to the senior leadership team to support recommendations in approach
  • Managing the apprenticeship scheme
  • Overseeing payroll
  • Managing visa and sponsorship application processes
  • Mentoring, guiding and supporting a small HR team

You will need 

  • Previous HR experience at at least business partner level, ideally within an agency environment
  • Experience of developing and leading successful people management initiatives
  • A thorough understanding of HR procedures & up to date employment legislation as well as experience of managing complex ER issues
  • Experience of managing payroll processes
  • Great attention to detail
  • To be available to start within a month from date of offer and ideally sooner.
