Role Overview:

I am recruiting on an exclusive basis an experienced HR Generalist to join the HR team of a subsidiary of an international bank. Employing approximately 130 people in the UK, the bank specialises in wholesale banking, commercial lending, and trade finance, with its primary office in Central London. This role may evolve into "Head of HR" and is crucial for aligning HR strategies with regulatory requirements and business objectives. The ideal candidate must have strong financial services regulatory knowledge, including SMCR and the remuneration code. The bank aims to strengthen HR leadership to support future growth and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Oversee HR operations, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial services regulations (SMCR, remuneration guidelines).
  • Develop and implement HR policies within a regulatory framework.
  • Lead and mentor HR team members.
  • Plan for succession, with potential progression to Head of HR.
  • Drive operational efficiency within HR practices.

Talent & HR Business Partnering Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with stakeholders, ensuring consistent HR policies.
  • Manage performance management, compensation, and goal-setting cycles.
  • Oversee recruitment and provide end-to-end support.
  • Facilitate learning, development, and internal HR training.
  • Maintain accurate HR operations and training logs.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support business strategy through HR expertise.
  • Advise and coach the HRBP on management support, recruitment, and training.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Financial services experience, preferably banking, wealth management, or insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of SMCR and remuneration code regulations.
  • Ability to execute HR strategies effectively.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Experience in succession planning and strategic HR leadership.
