A busy school in Tottenham are looking for a HR Assistant to start as soon as possible. As an HR Assistant, you will support the HR Manager and wider team with recruitment and other employment related activities. Key Responsibilities:-
Recruitment Support:
- Administer recruitment processes for employees, agency workers, and volunteers, ensuring compliance with Safer Recruitment standards.
- Post job ads, organize interviews, and complete shortlisting.
- Manage pre-employment checks and maintain personnel files.
- Organize inductions for new staff and ensure proper checks for seconded staff and agency workers.

Absence Management:
- Monitor and manage staff absences on a daily basis, including arranging cover for absent staff.
- Input absence data into the system and prepare reports on absence trends.
- Ensure return-to-work interviews are completed.

HR Administration:
- Support the HR Manager with employee relations cases (e.g., grievances or performance issues).
- Assist with completing probation and appraisal paperwork.
- Coordinate flexible working requests and maintain accurate staff training records.
- Manage payroll administration and ensure compliance with GDPR when processing leaver actions.
- Help with other HR-related tasks as needed.

General Support:
- Assist in other areas of the school, such as covering reception or exam invigilation on a rota basis.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) or equivalent.
- Previous HR or administrative experience, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads.
- High level of IT skills and ability to handle confidential information.
Desirable Criteria:
- Working towards a CIPD qualification or Safer Recruitment training.
