Merchandiser – Construction – Not target based

My client is a market leader of GRP roofing systems, they have an established client base that has gradually grown over the 30 years they have been trading, and they are currently seeking a confident Merchandiser to demonstrate their new products throughout London. The role will be based at various Roofing merchants and is a great role for someone who comes from a construction background or enjoys meeting new people and networking.
Duties:
- Ensuring all training and support materials are kept stocked in the training vehicle.
- Booking accommodation and confirming attendance with branches.
- Co-ordinating support and promotion for sessions with the branches.
- Half/ full day office/home-based per week to organise for the coming weeks.
- Office/home days will include other responsibilities including technical support for installers/ distributors over the phone/ email, preparing training materials for the following week (timber, trims, displays etc.).
- Conducting branch activities including staff training, contractor training, demonstration days, POS fit outs and other activities.
- Occasional branch activities outside of usual office hours.
- Merchandising support at depot level: Setting up point of sales displays/ stands, checking stock profile at depots, organising and keeping stock tidy, and replenishing literature.
- Site support to provide specification advice, technical support and troubleshooting to customers on larger projects.
- Occasional on-site training support
- Technical support over the phone, email and in person.
- Trade shows/ exhibitions.
- Gathering feedback on the training course and using it to develop and improve training as well as adapting the course and materials to suit different situations.
- Maintaining company vehicle, ensuring it is kept organised and tidy.
- Occasional overnights may be required, particularly for exhibitions.
- UK wide travel to other sales territories may be required in infrequent circumstances.
- Any other duties that may be asked of you to enable a smooth running of the business.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate would be someone with a trade background with good communication skills who is keen to move out of the trade into technical support role for other trades people.
- You will have a good understanding of written and spoken English No Sales/IT experience required- successful candidates be provided with a comprehensive training program on the job.
- A full UK driving licence is required and you should be eligible to live and work in the UK. The candidate will be located in the target area.
