Are you passionate about supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in a specialised school environment? We are currently looking for Positive Behaviour Support Assistants to join a dedicated team at a Special School in Newham. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by providing positive behaviour support and personalised education to children with SEND.

What You’ll Do as a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Provide in-class support to students as assigned.
  • Observe and record pupil progress and behaviours.
  • Communicate with parents and document incidents using Behaviour Watch.
  • Participate in school CPD sessions, briefings, and professional development.
  • Respond to calls when a student is dysregulated and provide 1:1 support as needed.
  • Create and implement resources like “now and next” boards to support learning.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience and understanding of Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties.
  • A strong appreciation for positive behaviour support methods.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support to children with SEND.
