About the Role
We are currently recruiting Positive Behaviour Support Assistants for a fantastic Special School in Newham, East London. This school is dedicated to providing exceptional education and positive behaviour support to pupils with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). As a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in helping students achieve their potential by supporting them with tailored strategies, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Supporting assigned classes and helping students stay engaged
Observing and keeping detailed records of pupil behaviour and progress
Communicating with parents and documenting incidents on behaviour watch
Attending CPD sessions, briefings, and staff meetings
Responding to student needs when they are dysregulated and providing 1:1 support
Creating resources like "now and next" boards to support positive behaviour

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in working with children with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Understanding and supportive of positive behaviour support techniques
  • Committed to providing the highest level of care and support to children with SEND
