Job Purpose
The Resourcing Manager is responsible for strategically allocating employees to projects, ensuring optimal use of talent and resources while aligning with business objectives. This role involves collaborating with project managers and department heads to match skills, availability, and capacity to project needs, maximizing efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource Allocation
- Develop and manage resource allocation plans to ensure the right employees are assigned to the right projects.
- Monitor project requirements and employee capacity to maintain balanced workloads.
- Identify and address gaps in resource availability, collaborating with teams to resolve conflicts.
- Workforce Planning
- Analyse workforce skills, capabilities, and availability to support project planning.
- Anticipate future resourcing needs based on project pipelines and business growth.
- Work with department leaders to forecast and prioritize resource demands.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a central point of contact for resource management, collaborating with project managers, team leads, HR Manager and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions to resolve competing priorities and ensure resources are utilized effectively.
- Provide regular updates on resource status, availability, and allocation challenges.
- Data and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of resource assignments, availability, and utilization.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Generate and present resource utilization reports to leadership, offering actionable insights.
- Employee Engagement and Development
- Ensure employees are assigned to projects that align with their skills and career development goals.
- Regularly review resource assignments to support employee satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with HR and department leads to identify training needs and upskilling opportunities.
- Process Optimization
- Continuously improve resource management processes and tools to enhance efficiency.
- Implement and maintain resource management systems to track and streamline assignments.
- Develop policies and procedures to manage changes in resource availability effectively.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

- Proven experience managing resource allocation in a project-based environment.
- Familiarity with resource management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
