Our Team
Our team manage the IBM Mainframe and Mid-Range estate for the bank which includes the performance of the hardware, upkeep of Operating Systems and maintenance of 3rd Party software.
Within the team there is many functions in which CICS and MQ support our connection and processing for the applications sitting on the Mainframe. We have a team with skills on one or both of CICS and MQ enabling us to support our customers.
What you'll be doing
路 Upgrading our Test and Live CICS environment.
路 Working with Change and Project Management to plan and deliver upgrade.
路 Driving enhancements to the security and resiliency of our CICS environments.
路 Identifying, quantifying and communicating technical risks.
路 Implementing industry best practice and innovation within our route to live cycle.
路 Exploring and testing efficiencies within the CICS set up.
路 Working with stakeholders to fix any issues and incidents that arise.
We need you to have
路 A sound understanding of the principles of resilience, operability and security, and how they relate to CICS.
路 Great experience of planning, preparing and delivering upgrades.
路 A desire and aptitude to continually grow your own knowledge and skills, and help others do the same.
路 A broad understanding of surrounding IT infrastructure: hardware, networking, data, and middleware.
路 An aptitude to quickly assimilate and understand complexity under pressure to diagnose and remediate technical issues.
路 Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
It's a bonus if you have but not essential
路 A good working knowledge of the operation of Core Banking platforms.
路 MQ administration experience, with knowledge of clustering and security.
路 Recent experience of core modernisation and managing digital demands on CICS infrastructure.
