TwelfthMan is looking to hire a versatile staff writer to join our editorial team. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in European football and be able to contribute across a range of football titles. The staff writer will be involved in all aspects of the editorial process, from coming up with story ideas to commissioning and subbing, as well as writing. They will also be expected to provide copy for TwelfthMan’s branding and digital projects. Our growing publications department produces in the region of 25 printed titles a year, both consumer and business-facing. Fan-facing magazines include Champions Journal – the official magazine of the UEFA Champions League – as well as the final matchday programmes for the men’s and women’s Champions Leagues.
Skills and experience
- Degree in journalism or similar
- 2+ years’ experience of sports writing and editing for print, digital and social
- Extensive knowledge of European football
- Proactive generating story and content ideas
- Ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple publications
- Subbing and proofreading experience
- Versatile team player willing to get involved in brand copywriting and other projects
