We are currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious University for a highly motivated and proactive Student & Academic Support Officer. This key role will support academic programmes and provide excellent customer service to both students and staff. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for queries and provide crucial administrative support to ensure a positive student experience in line with the College’s procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to academic teams and students, ensuring a high-quality student experience.
  • Act as the first point of contact for student and staff queries via email, phone, Moodle, and in person.
  • Monitor student attendance and assist with tutorial organisation and student sign-ups.
  • Support academic teams in organising student progression, academic advising, and exam boards.
  • Assist in the maintenance and population of course Moodle pages and other course-level communications.
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of academic events, trips, external speakers, and meetings.
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of student events, Welcome Week, and graduation, in collaboration with central services.
  • Help with the preparation of teaching materials, including unit guides and handouts.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and regulations, including data protection, equality, and diversity.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • A good first degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior office administration experience, preferably within a higher education or customer service-focused environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with student management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to engage effectively with staff and students at all levels.
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in servicing academic committees and familiarity with quality assurance processes in higher education.
  • Knowledge of student support services and broader higher education sector issues.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
